Elecnor Hawkeye is seeking a Safety Representative III to support the Gas Operations Construction Complex Division. This full-time, on-site role focuses on organizing and executing HSE activities, training, regulatory compliance, and field safety oversight.

Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, you will engage with operations on hazards, lead investigations, and facilitate safe work practices in dynamic construction environments. A BCSP or USOLN credential is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have BCSP or USOLN credential.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5+ years of safety experience in construction, utility, or industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience leading jobsite inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to train and orient personnel and conduct safety briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety and safe work practices on field projects.
  • Conduct documented jobsite inspections ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training and orientation to field teams.
  • Maintain safety documentation and tracking of corrective actions and audits.
  • Travel up to 80% within Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Bronx areas.

Job description

The Safety Representative III is a full-time, on-site safety professional dedicated to supporting the Gas Operations Construction Complex Division. This position is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities, including training, regulatory and company compliance, incident prevention, and field safety oversight.

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, the Safety Representative serves as a key safety partner to operations. The role requires a consistent field presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to identify hazards and influence safe work practices in dynamic construction environments.

Responsibilities
Field & Operational Safety
  • Promote and reinforce a culture that delivers safe workers and safe workplaces
  • Conduct documented jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations
  • Support and guide field operations in executing safe work practices and job briefings
  • Identify hazards and recommend practical, field-driven corrective actions
  • Integrate HSE into daily operations and work planning activities
  • Support and lead incident prevention initiatives
  • Assist with and/or lead incident and injury investigations, including:
  • Fact finding and root cause analysis
  • Corrective action development and tracking
Training & Workforce Development
  • Conduct safety orientation and training in a timely, professional manner
  • Deliver quality presentations with confidence and effectively in large group settings
  • Reinforce safety expectations through field engagement and coaching
Administrative & Compliance
  • Maintain and support safety documentation and recordkeeping
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Company policies and client requirements
  • Track and support corrective actions, audits, and training records
  • Prioritize internal and external customer service in all safety interactions
Qualifications
  • Must have a BCSP OR USOLN credential
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3–5+ years of safety experience in construction, utility, or industrial environments
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Experience supporting:
  • Jobsite inspections and audits
  • Incident investigations
  • Safety training and orientations
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent follow-up and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google workspace
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% within Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Bronx areas
Preferred Skills
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Occupational Safety & Health
  • Current National Grid NGC 70/71
  • Construction Management or related field
  • OSHA 30 required or other recognized safety certifications
  • Experience in urban work environments (traffic and pedestrian control)
  • Familiarity with utility operations, civil construction or gas construction
