Job summary

Springfield Utility Board is seeking a Safety Program Manager for the General Management division. The role reports to Human Resources and is a full-time exempt position with standard M-F hours.

Responsibilities include leading safety program administration, coordinating tailboards and JHAs, and aligning with OSHA requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive safety credentials, strong public-sector experience, and the ability to work closely with field crews in Oregon.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of progressively responsible safety program administration experience in utilities. Public sector experience preferred.
  • Experience leading tailboards, JHAs, and emergency operations procedures.
  • Ability to work with field crews and understand operational work groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Safety Program Manager responsibilities as described in the official job description.
  • Lead tailboards, JHAs and coordination of emergency operations procedures.
  • Ensure safety compliance with OSHA standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with field crews to improve safety practices and incident prevention.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field

OSHA 7505 Introduction to Accident Investigation

IS 700
CUSP/ASP/CSP/CLCP (preferred)
CPR/First Aid Trainer certification (possible)
