Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites, ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.

The role covers administering site safety programs, conducting audits, leading OSHA reporting, and analyzing safety data. Travel up to 100% may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Or a high school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and 10 years of construction safety leadership experience.
• Minimum of four years of construction safety experience.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs.
• Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.

SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent;

OR

• High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and a minimum of 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, to include at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant field

• Minimum of four years of construction safety experience

• Current valid driver’s license

• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs

• Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills

• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively

• Willingness to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $89,500 MIN - $120,800 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
