Job summary

Amkor Technology, Inc. in Arizona is seeking an experienced Facilities Senior Fire Protection Engineer to design, install, commission, and operate fire protection systems for our OSAT factory.

You will ensure NFPA compliance, life safety integration, and safe operations within a high-volume semiconductor environment. The role covers fire suppression, alarms, sprinkler and clean agent systems, with on-call duties and collaboration with operations teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of fire protection system design and operations experience in semiconductor/high-tech manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of NFPA codes, life safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with Fire Alarm, sprinkler systems, and alarm integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Bluebeam.
• PE or NICET certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and emergency response planning.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced facilities SeniorFire Protection Engineer, responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of fire protection systems for Amkor’s OSAT factory. This includes fire suppression systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, clean agent systems, and integration with life safety systems. The role ensures compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and corporate standards while maintaining a safe environment for semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust heavy objects.
• Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
• Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.

Location:

This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
