Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to lead safety execution on major project scopes across sites in Richmond, Herndon and Culpeper, VA. This full-time in-person role focuses on mentoring safety staff and delivering consistent programs on complex operations.

The position requires OSHA 30, BCSP certification (ASP/CSP/CHST preferred), and Competent Person training, with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to drive a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
• BCSP certification (ASP, CSP, or CHST preferred).
• Competent Person training (e.g., cranes, rigging, NFPA 70E).
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety efforts for major scopes, trades, or phases of work.
• Review and approve critical JHAs and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Mentor and develop Assistant and Safety Coordinators.
• Serve as a primary safety contact for project leadership, trade partners, and clients.
• Facilitate safety meetings, training, and key project safety initiatives.
• Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, accountability, and engagement.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Safety Coordinator to join our Safety team on our projects in Richmond, VA. Herndon, VA. Culpeper, VA. This is a full-time, in-person position. The Senior Safety Coordinator leads safety execution for major project scopes, mentors' junior safety staff, and serves as a key safety leader within the project team. This role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and consistent program delivery across complex operations.
