In this role, you'll assist the Division Safety Program in enforcing and regulating all safety procedures to ensure that Southland Industries meets all safety requirements in the field by managing and coordinating all division safety activities.

What You’ll Do

• Tour and inspect job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Report concerns and ensure health and safety standards are met.
• Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas, recommend corrective actions, and ensure issues are addressed within deadlines.
• Maintain safety documentation, review hazard logs, and take necessary actions.
• Provide emergency response as needed.
• Investigate accidents, prepare reports, and submit data to regulatory agencies.
• Assist in developing and facilitating employee safety training.
• Train less-experienced safety staff as needed.
• Use your judgment to make day-to-day safety decisions, consulting with your manager on significant issues.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• At least 4+ years of safety experience in construction, including training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Sciences, or related experience.
• Preferred certifications: CHST or ASP, CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10/30/40, OSHA 500.
• Knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards and safety management systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
