Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a senior Science and Technology Advisor for SOUTHCOM J36 counternarcotics programs. The role provides technical leadership, develops innovative solutions, and guides program strategy to defend the homeland.

You will engage with government and industry partners, write proposals, perform risk assessments, and brief senior leadership on mission status. A TS/SCI clearance is required, with extensive experience in defense acquisition and RDT&E funding.

Qualifications

• 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years with Masters; 10 years with PhD/JD; or 19 years with HS diploma.
• Recognized expertise in analysis and evaluation of technologies, systems, and programs of significant difficulty and national significance.
• Professional knowledge of engineering theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to research and carry out difficult assignments.
• Working knowledge across several branches of engineering and acquisition decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert Science and Technology advisor to DASW CN/GT and SOUTHCOM J36 on counternarcotics technology portfolio.
• Identify innovative solutions to counternarcotics operational gaps with industry and Defense labs.
• Advise on critical operational problems where technical solutions are available.
• Interface with government labs and agencies to plan and execute new technology development programs.
• Write proposals to secure additional resources from OUSW and Military Service RDT&E programs.
• Coordinate operational evaluations and transition new capabilities into counternarcotics operations.
• Lead demonstration efforts such as Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrations and Fleet Battle Experiments.
• Advise on PPBE process and funds management for acquisition planning.
• Advise on risks affecting counternarcotics detection and monitoring capabilities.
• Serve on project selection panels and industry reviews per ethics standards.
