Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior S/4 Transition Data Architect to lead the enterprise data architecture during the ECC to S/4HANA migration. You will shape data models, reference architectures, and bridge reporting strategies to deliver timely insights while ensuring data quality across ECC and S/4HANA.

You will apply TOGAF ADM, define integration patterns, orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines with BODS, and collaborate with product managers, enterprise architects, and delivery teams to steer architecture

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data architecture for ECC → S/4HANA transition, defining principles and guardrails for data domains.
• Design the bridge reporting strategy that harmonizes ECC and S/4HANA datasets for consistent KPI definitions.
• Model canonical and system-specific data with golden sources and conformed dimensions.
• Define integration patterns between SAP and the analytical stack (APIs, SLT/ODP/CDC, files, events).
• Enable analytics in SAP Analytics Cloud—curate models, measures, and calculations.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines using SAP BODS and orchestration patterns.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts aligned to TOGAF ADM Phases A-D.
• Coach delivery teams and provide architectural reviews to ensure solutions conform.

We are launching a multi‑year transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, and Raytheon's Data, Analytics and AI organization is looking for a Senior S/4 Transition Data Architect to help shape the enterprise data foundation that will enable this journey. In this role, you will define and evolve the data architecture that supports seamless reporting and insight generation across both ECC and S/4HANA as they run in parallel during our migration. You will design canonical data models, integration patterns, and a bridge‑reporting strategy that brings together data from migrated and non‑migrated business areas-ensuring leaders and frontline teams have timely, trustworthy insights.

This senior individual contributor role partners closely with product managers, enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to set direction, establish standards, and guide solution teams across the full lifecycle-from strategic planning and design through deployment and ongoing operations.

You will apply formal architecture and strategy methods, such as TOGAF, to articulate business strategy, challenges, needs, and structure ahead of solution design. You will also own the continuous development of reference architectures, data models, personas, use cases, landscape views, and knowledge repositories that accelerate future architecture work and support a consistent, enterprise‑wide approach.

What You Will Do

• Own the enterprise data architecture for the ECC → S/4HANA transition, defining principles, reference architectures, and guardrails for data domains (Finance, Supply Chain, Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, etc.).
• Design the bridge reporting strategy that harmonizes ECC and S/4HANA datasets to produce consistent KPI definitions and cross‑system analytics (e.g., consolidated financials, inventory, order fulfillment), including semantic layers and data virtualization/replication as appropriate.
• Model canonical and system‑specific data (conceptual, logical, physical) and establish golden sources, conformed dimensions, data standards, and naming/versioning conventions.
• Define integration patterns (e.g., SLT/ODP/CDC, APIs, files, events) between SAP and the analytical stack, balancing latency, cost, reliability, and data quality.
• Enable analytics & planning in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)-curate models, measures, and calculations; design security and data‑access patterns; guide dashboard/story design standards.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) and modern orchestration patterns; define error handling, lineage, and observability.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts (capability maps, value streams, domain models, roadmaps, standards) aligned to TOGAF ADM phases A-D and communicate them to technical and business stakeholders.
