Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Shane Veterinary Medical Center is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to support hospital operations with quality care and exceptional service to patients and clients.

Responsibilities include assisting during surgery, patient care, nursing, record keeping, and communicating with pet owners. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of veterinary medicine experience, an RVT license (preferred), and a commitment to a high standard of veterinary practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in veterinary medicine.
• RVT license preferred for leadership in surgery.
• Must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, interviews, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
• Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and aiding as directed by the veterinarian.
• Provide excellent pet care by applying full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment usage, and specialized drug administration.
• Obtain and verify medications.
• Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing holding and operating areas, and complying with regulations.
• Maintain medical records by documenting conditions, reactions, and changes; update database accurately and timely.
• Communicate with pet owners about patient status.
