Job summary

NinjaTrader, based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer II focused on Rust to own the onboarding surface end to end, including provider integrations and KYC/CIP decisioning.

You will mentor teams and shape patterns across Payward's Rust ecosystem, impacting approval rates and funding timelines. Responsibilities include building scalable Rust services, secure data handling, and policy-driven support for new markets, with a strong emphasis on testing and reliability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong production Rust experience with async and ownership concepts.
• Experience designing HTTP and event-driven service integrations.
• Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments, plus SQL layer tooling.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Degree in CS/SE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Rust services powering onboarding and KYC/CIP decisioning.
• Build integrations with identity, fraud, and screening providers.
• Implement deterministic, testable decision logic with table-driven tests.
• Deliver asynchronous, reliable outcomes to downstream systems.
• Ensure data handling of PII with encryption, redaction, and audit logging.
• Sponsor policy-driven variations for new jurisdictions and provinces.
• Operate with instrumentation, logging, alerting, and incident response.
• Collaborate across teams and mentor junior Rust engineers.
