Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems used by leading AI labs. You’ll work in production workflows, tackle hard problems at scale, and collaborate with research and engineering teams at the frontier of AI development.

You’ll contribute high-performance Rust services, robust CLI tools, and scalable backend components that power model training and evaluation across distributed environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Rust experience in production.
• Experience building high-performance backend services.
• Strong knowledge of database interactions and pooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Rust systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop backend services and full-stack tooling for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing Rust codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior and implement scalable fixes.
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions.
