Qualifications

• Going between Torrington and Waterbury offices to support clients and assist with coverage.
• Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check.
• Approved criminal background check (CORI).
• Assist additional clients when short staffed (call outs, vacations, LOA, etc).
• Assist with programmatic needs.
• Assist with coverage if Program Manager is off.

Responsibilities

• The Senior CaseWorker provides a supportive relationship to clients in need of daily services and helps them live independently in the community.
• Works to address mental health, substance use, and housing needs as part of a recovery-oriented, client-centered approach.
• Travels between Torrington and Waterbury offices to support client coverage and program needs.

Description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Senior Caseworker to join our Residential Supports Programs (RSP) in Torrington and Waterbury, CT. The RSP Outreach Caseworker is a support specialist who actively supports the philosophy of the agency and maintains a high level of commitment to clients.

The Senior Caseworker provides a supportive relationship to clients in need of daily services. The goal is to provide a flexible range of supportive services that assist individuals with mental illness, substance use problems and co-occurring disorders to live in the community as independently as possible. The services we provide are recovery oriented, culturally sensitive to the needs of the individuals we serve, their families and the community at large within an overall managed system of care. Together we address needs regarding mental health, substance use, and housing and facilitate independent living in the community.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Going between both Torrington and Waterbury offices to support clients and assist with coverage
• Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population preferred

SCHEDULES:

1st shift, 8:30am-4:30pm. Days on: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Days off: Saturday, Sunday

Pay rate is $22.50/hr. As well as a phenomenal benefit package that includes, Dental, Health and Life insurance. Paid time off, earned vacation time and paid holidays just to name a few.
