Job summary

Talus Renewables, Inc. is seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to own compressors and pumps in modular green ammonia systems. You will oversee specification, procurement, factory testing, commissioning, and long-term reliability.

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will drive equipment performance for hydrogen and syngas duty across globally distributed platforms. The role is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide with strong English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years in rotating equipment or machinery engineering, with compressor experience in process plant service.
• Experience taking multiple packaged compressor trains through full cycle stages from specification to commissioning.
• Experience evaluating compressor offers on lifecycle terms and making informed award decisions.
• Familiarity with compressor standards and selecting appropriate technology for given duties (API 618, API 11P/ISO 13631, API 617, API 619).
• Experience with hydrogen, syngas, or helium service and understanding its implications on machine selection.
• Applied reliability practices including failure mode analysis and sparing strategy.
• Experience with factory testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting running equipment.

Responsibilities

• Translate process duty into compressor specifications and datasheets with traceable requirements.
• Assess compressor types for service and justify the chosen package versus standard vs. custom machines.
• Develop RFQ packages with complete scope, standards, testing, spares, and guarantees; manage vendor clarifications and deviations.
• Produce technical bid tabulation and evaluate offers for power, performance, wear parts, availability, and maintainability.
• Review vendor documentation on pulsation, mechanical response, lube systems, cooling, drives, and interfaces on the skid.
• Define maintenance access, lifting provisions, and modular skid design for in-place workability.
• Establish sparing philosophy, condition-monitoring basis, and maintenance intervals for each machine.
• Define factory test plans and witness performance tests; support commissioning and start-up.
