Job summary

Gränges Americas is seeking a Roll Grinder to operate grinding equipment and finish rolls/knives. Under supervision, you will set up machines, select tools, and monitor quality to meet specifications.

Safety and efficiency are essential as you work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include maintaining rolls, setting crowns, and documenting production data while adhering to company standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Technical or vocational training or 3–6 months related experience preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one or small group settings.

Responsibilities

Keep work area and tools clean and orderly.
Transfer and place rolls on grinding machine.
Load/Off-load rolls onto transport trucks.
Mark rolls to identify source mill or caster.
Set up grinding machine including centering, rest sizing, leveling and adjustments.
Set machine to achieve desired crown and finish.
Ensure proper coolants are used and functioning.
Determine cut amount based on roll toughness.
Select appropriate grit wheels and cutting tools.
Maintain records of rolls and equipment conditions.
Finish rolls with required finish and quality.
Perform routine maintenance and other duties as assigned.
