Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology's ABC News Mobile and Living Room Devices team seeks a Product Software Engineer II to build the ABC News Direct-to-Consumer app on Roku streaming devices and smart TVs.

You will work with BrightScript, Roku SceneGraph, and MVVM, delivering engaging user experiences while collaborating across client SDK, design, services, and backend teams to meet product goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience with a client-side stack, preferably including BrightScript.
• Experience with MVVM architecture and reusable UI components.
• Proficiency in building data-driven, pixel-perfect UIs for streaming devices.

Responsibilities

• Build client app experiences in BrightScript using Roku SceneGraph SDK.
• Develop features from onboarding to browse UI/UX, analytics, and video playback UI/UX.
• Contribute to tools and systems outside Roku apps (JavaScript web tools, gulp scripts, AWS configs, Node.js services).
• Collaborate with SDK, design, services, and product teams to align requirements and device capabilities.
