Job summary

Pickle Robot Company is seeking a Principal Motion Planning Engineer to lead the architecture of the motion planning stack for autonomous unload robots. You will own algorithms, interfaces, and production readiness from research to deployment, enabling safe and reliable operation in real-world warehouses.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive long-term roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building robotics software and shipping complex systems as a senior IC.
• Hands-on motion planning and control for real-world robots in safety-critical systems.
• Strong written/verbal English for cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture of the motion planning and controls stack for manipulation, navigation, and safety-critical control of the unload robot.
• Turn research prototypes into production systems handling sample-based planning and trajectory optimization.
• Set engineering standards and strategy across robotics to unblock customers and long-term roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers through tough problems without people management responsibilities.
• Define and maintain architecture, interfaces, and documentation for the planning and controls stack.
