Job summary

Monarch Quantum invites a Senior Principal Robotics Software Engineer to lead motion planning and controls development for a hands-on robotics stack. You will own the driver layer to hardware, implement real-time control interfaces, and push learning-based methods from simulation to real-world deployment.

You will mentor engineers, establish robust software practices, and collaborate with hardware, process, and leadership teams to scale our robotics platform in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Robotics, or related fields or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years building robotics software with ownership of motion planning or controls systems end-to-end.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
• Startup/fast-paced tech experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement motion & trajectory planning for multi-robot tasks.
• Develop kinematics, reachability, and motion planning for robotic manipulators.
• Own driver layer connecting to hardware and real-time control interfaces.
• Advance robotics stack with learning-based methods and sim-to-real training.
• Set technical direction for robotics software, integration with fleet mgmt and higher-level systems.
• Mentor engineers and improve code quality and engineering practices.
• Write unit tests and validation suites for reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with hardware/process engineers and cross-functional teams.
