Job summary

Integrated Bio in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist to build the robotic layer of our closed-loop discovery engine. You will own hardware end to end, integrating arms, end effectors, sensors, and lab automation to turn our wet lab into a data-rich training ground for embodied AI.

You will design and program manipulation systems, teleoperation rigs, automate high-throughput workflows, and develop the software stack (ROS2, Python/C++).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in robotics, mechanical/electrical engineering, CS, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience integrating and programming real robotic hardware and simulation.
• Strong Python and C++ with production ROS2 experience.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a small team in a wet lab.
• Experience with teleoperation and dexterous-hand integration.
• Experience with MuJoCo or NVIDIA Isaac; URDF/MJCF asset creation.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and program robotic manipulation systems for laboratory tasks.
• Build teleoperation and demonstration-capture rigs with egocentric video and tactile data pipelines for embodied AI training.
• Automate high-throughput experimental workflows and instrument integration.
• Develop and maintain the software stack for robotic systems (ROS2, Python/C++) including simulators.
• Define data formats, QC, and metadata standards with the AI team.
• Own uptime, safety, and documentation for all robotics equipment.
