Job summary

Holiday Robotics Research Inc. in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist/Engineer to design and validate FRIDAY's multimodal, high-DoF manipulation stack for a dual-arm system.

This hands-on role involves experiments, tuning, and rapid iteration between simulation and hardware. You will fuse head-mounted vision, tactile feedback, and joint-state data to estimate pose, geometry, contact state, slip, force, and uncertainty, enabling real-time manipulation and robust bimanual

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of robotics experience focused on manipulation, control, or perception for physical robots.
• Strong foundations in hand–object kinematics, contact mechanics, visuotactile state estimation, and multimodal sensor fusion.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and own architecture of FRIDAY's multimodal manipulation stack for dual-arm motion.
• Fuse vision, tactile feedback, and joint state in a closed loop to estimate pose, contact state, and force.
• Develop algorithms for grasping, in-hand manipulation, tool use, assembly, and bimanual tasks.
• Build evaluation tests and deploy/Debug algorithms on FRIDAY in simulation and real hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware, perception, control, planning, and robotics learning teams to refine methods.
