Stryker in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a Senior Robotics Mechanical Engineer to design and develop life-changing robotic devices for the Mako RPS Portfolio. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 3–4 days per week and living within commuting distance.

You will translate design inputs into specifications, prototype solutions, and collaborate across disciplines to meet regulatory requirements while maintaining rigorous documentation.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devices under minimal supervision
• Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designs.
• Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.
• Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures for problem solving
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
• Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
• Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
• Demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
• Works as key member of the team, collaborating with others and solidifying relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum two years of relevant engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge and understanding of robotics mechanical engineering practices and design principles
• Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.
• Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design.
• Ability to Communicate basic plans and technical information to team members.

$89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual Travel Percentage: 10%

Work Flexibility Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
