Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Industrial Designer to translate design vision into production-ready form language for next-generation robotic platforms. You will own form development from early volumetric exploration through surface refinement, balancing aesthetics with manufacturability and complex electromechanical packaging.

You will collaborate with mechanical, robotics, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready surfaces, tolerances, and documentation for tooling kickoff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial design experience with complex physical products (robotics, automotive, medical devices, consumer electronics, or similar electrom"ec"h mechanical systems)
• Experience collaborating with mechanical and manufacturing engineering teams through production
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design, or related field
• Expert-level proficiency in Rhino, SubD modeling, Alias, Blender, or Plasticity with production-ready surfaces

Responsibilities

• Form Development & Surface Refinement from volumetric studies to production-ready surfaces
• Design for Manufacturing considerations including draft angles and tooling for multiple processes
• Establish a cohesive design language across robot components
• Address dynamic articulation and component clearances while maintaining design intent
• Package high-density motor assemblies, cooling systems, battery modules, and sensors into a producible envelope
• Deliver organized CAD models with design intent documentation for tooling development
