Job description

Our client is developing innovative technology to modernize how solar assets are engineered and deployed, with the goal of enabling faster, more efficient delivery of projects ranging from distributed generation to utility scale.

They are expanding a hands-on engineering team focused on solving complex, real-world challenges at the intersection of civil engineering, product development, and construction execution. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership over project design and contribute directly to the evolution of next-generation solar infrastructure.

The Senior Robotics Engineer, Dynamics and Control Systems will play a critical role on the Robot Hardware and Systems team, driving the development of autonomous robotic platforms used for large-scale solar installation. This is a highly hands-on engineering role with ownership across the full lifecycle, from early concept and control architecture through field testing, validation, and iteration. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of controls theory, embedded systems, and real-world robotics deployment.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and implement real-time control algorithms for robotic actuation and vehicle locomotion systems
  • Build and maintain real-time software supporting safety systems, vehicle control, and operational sequencing
  • Evaluate and integrate controllers, sensors, and actuators into production hardware platforms
  • Develop calibration, system identification, verification, and validation processes for robotic systems
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to define system architecture and technical requirements
  • Support field testing, data analysis, and iterative improvement of robotic performance in operational environments
  • Contribute to new features and continuous improvement of autonomous robotic platforms
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 4 to 8 years of professional experience in robotics, embedded systems, or controls engineering
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time control and hardware interfacing
  • Hands‑on experience with embedded systems and CAN bus communication
  • Experience working with ROS2 and the broader ROS ecosystem
  • Practical experience with robot calibration, system integration, and troubleshooting
  • Solid foundation in control algorithms, system identification, and nonlinear control methods
  • Experience with CANopen, J1939, and associated debugging tools
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $145,000 - $190, 000 base salary
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
