Job summary

Zoox is seeking a software engineer to develop Robot software and infrastructure, building platform-level OS components that power autonomous vehicle devices and autonomy systems. You will work on embedded Linux, device drivers, and performance-critical code in C/C++/Rust.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring up hardware, verify Linux images, and maintain robust OS platforms across automotive-grade hardware.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering production systems and software applications.
• Proficiency in Linux internals and systems programming (C/C++, Python/Bash).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the operating system platform powering on-bot devices and applications.
• Architect and implement platform-level software for robotics infrastructure.
• Configure and manage embedded Linux build systems (Yocto) and bootloaders (U-Boot).
• Develop and optimize device drivers and kernel-space components in C/C++/Rust.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate OS platform and support hardware bring-up.
