Job summary

Mannik Smith Group is seeking a Mid/Senior Roadway Engineer to help shape Virginia’s transportation infrastructure. This role involves designing roads and traffic systems to improve community movement and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, with 4–8 years of relevant experience, and must possess strong design skills aligned with VDOT standards. A generous benefits package including medical insurance and a 401K plan is offered.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands‑on experience in transportation design and/or project management.
• PE license in Virginia or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 1 year.
• Familiarity with VDOT standards and project delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transportation projects including roads, highways, and traffic management systems.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, contractors, and public agencies.
• Assist with project management activities such as scheduling and cost estimation.
• Prepare engineering designs and documentation that align with VDOT standards.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transport regulations.
