ATCS is seeking a multi-faceted Senior Roadway Engineer or Project Manager (depending on experience) to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week required onsite in the Raleigh office and up to 2 days working remotely.
This position will perform a variety of tasks related to transportation design for public agencies (NCDOT, Municipalities, etc.). The diversity of responsibilities and actual tasks require a flexible mindset and cooperative team-oriented, can-do attitude to support our project teams, the design department, and ATCS.
Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and design of transportation-related facilities.
- Familiarity of the NCDOT Roadway Design Manual and AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design.
- Support of Senior Staff in mentoring younger staff and helping grow the office.
- Project Management
- Preparing various stages of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Drafting technical reports.
- Coordination with subconsultants on project design.
- QA/QC of design submissions and associated documentation.
- Generating scopes of work and manday estimates.
- Conducting field visits during design or construction.
- Participating in client and public meetings.
- Project financials, invoicing, and preparation of progress reports
Required Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- 10+ years' experience in the field of transportation engineering.
- NC PE required. If the PE license is not in NC, must have the ability to get reciprocity.
- Has led or has had a major role in the completion of project delivery for NCDOT.
- Familiar with the NCDOT Project Delivery Network
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to thrive in a busy environment with multiple assignments.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate experience with MicroStation V8i, Geopak, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and ConceptStation.
Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $132,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary. In addition to compensation, ATCS offers outstanding, employee-focused benefits for you and your family.
