Job Description

ATCS is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our team as a Senior Roadway Engineer or Roadway Engineering Project Manager. This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices. We are considering candidates based out of Hampton Roads (VA), Virginia Beach, or Glen Allen (VA).

This is an exciting opportunity to support and shape our roadway design services group in Virginia.

This individual will perform a variety of engineering tasks related to VDOT and municipal roadway design projects. The responsibilities require a flexible mindset and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude with increasing design and management capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project design, task management, client contact, and quality control.
• Development of roadway construction documents, including plans, profiles, typical sections, maintenance of traffic plans, and cost estimating and planning.
• Preparing reports and studies.
• Participating in public meetings.
• Directing and reviewing roadway infrastructure designs based on AASHTO, VDOT, and local municipality requirements.
• Coordinating with contractors, utility companies, and government agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in roadway design, preferably in Virginia.
• Professional Engineer’s license in VA or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with MicroStation ORD; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, VDOT, and regional design standards and policies.

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. We offer a competitive salary range of $79,200 to $133,650 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, targeted at 2% of the employee's annual salary.
