Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. in Jackson, MS is seeking a Senior Roadway Transportation Engineer to lead planning, design, and construction support for highway and urban projects, delivering safe, efficient transportation solutions with a collaborative, experienced team.

You will manage budgets and schedules, act as project engineer and client contact, stamp work, assist in bids, prepare reports, and mentor staff on MDOT and local projects while advancing the firm’s transportation program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• PE licensed in MS or ability to obtain
• 5+ years in roadway/transportation projects
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK/InRoads, OpenRoads Designer
• Prepare engineering records and concise technical reports
• Experience with construction plans, specs, contracts
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor budgets for transportation design projects
• Oversee project schedules and timely completion
• Serve as project engineer and client contact
• Assist in bids or negotiations, pre-bid conferences and post-bid evaluations
• Monitor work-in-progress on projects
• Stamp or seal work
• Participate in pre-project presentations and client meetings
• Manage and evaluate personnel on projects
• Establish professional relations with clients and contractors
• Other duties as assigned
