Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Transportation Project Manager - Roadway Design in South Florida to lead FDOT and local agency roadway design projects, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior staff.

The role focuses on project management, technical design oversight, and client service, with opportunities to drive business development and pursue new contracts in targeted FDOT districts.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida.
• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Experience managing FDOT or local agency projects.
• Strong understanding of FDOT design standards and specs.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary transportation project teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee FDOT and local agency roadway design projects from NTP through final design.
• Act as Project Manager, Engineer of Record, or technical lead as appropriate.
• Provide technical direction for roadway design, drainage, lighting, signing, and pavement markings.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate with clients, subconsultants, utility owners, and staff.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers on FDOT design and project delivery expectations.
• Assist with pursuit strategy, proposals, scope development, and staff hour estimates.
• Participate in selected FDOT meetings and industry events.
