Job description

RK&K is seeking talented Senior Roadway and Bridge Inspectors to work in the Knoxville/Tri-Cities area, focusing on providing construction engineering inspection services on transportation projects for clients within the area. The Senior Inspectors should have 10+ years of experience working on DOT and/or other local agency construction programs, inspecting/managing CEI projects, and supervising teams of Inspectors.

Essential Functions

The ideal candidate will work independently with multiple transportation clients and contractors, and will be responsible for:

1. Working on various roadway and bridge projects within the region
2. Oversight of contractor’s quality control operations
3. Conducting quality assurance sampling and testing
4. Completing Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
5. Inputting data in SiteManager/LIMS
6. Maintaining daily communication with clients, contractors, and field personnel

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience providing Construction Engineering Inspection services
• Trustworthiness and responsibility
• Strong background in mathematics
• Ability to read and follow test specifications
• Excellent driving record
• Experience supervising teams of Inspectors and/or site management

Preferred Skills and Experience

• TDOT Asphalt Plant Technician
• TDOT Concrete Field Technician/ACI Grade 1
• TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Inspector
• Aggregate Technician
• TDOT Concrete Plant Technician
• Nuclear Gauge Field Technician
