Job summary

Brown University in Rhode Island seeks a Senior Research Assistant to support the RNA Core Facility. You will maintain cell lines, perform molecular biology workflows, and manage library construction and sequencing operations under supervision.

You will also handle reagent orders and ensure meticulous data recording and protocol development. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of lab experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across diverse research

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years’ laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory approaches and techniques in Molecular, Cell Biology and Biochemistry.
• Preferred: RNA/DNA extraction, purification and analysis, nanopore sequencing, biochemistry, or molecular RNA biology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cell lines, perform transfections, PCR, western blotting, and DNA/RNA/protein extraction & purification.
• Prepare samples, library construction, and run sequencing and other genomic workflows.
• Order and prepare necessary reagents and supplies to support Core operations.
• Record data carefully and interpret experimental results; write protocols and operating procedures.
