Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse in applicable settings preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience with individuals with I/DD, three of which were supervisory.
• Strong supervisory and managerial skills with effective communication across levels.
• Excellent organization and computer skills; strong time management.
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON with developing and maintaining systems to deliver quality nursing services while complying with regulations.
• Review agency policies to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
• Maintain 24-hour RN availability for residential programs and ensure consistent nursing service delivery.
• Oversee Medication Administration Course using OPWDD mandated curriculum.
• Serve as liaison between The Arc Mid-Hudson and other providers, hospitals and agencies.
• Supervise RNs and LPNs, including hiring, orientation, training, and appraisals.
• Provide oversight to RNs and LPNs to ensure program regulatory compliance.
