Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care, conduct assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and maintain medical records for a diverse patient population. The RN II collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional care team to coordinate care and advocate for patients and families.

This role may assume leadership duties, serve as a preceptor, and contribute to unit- and hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• RN – Texas State Licensure (must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing Texas residency).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (or instructors).
• Preferred: Magnet, PALS for pediatric care.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Conducts nursing assessments and assists with exams and treatments.
• Maintains accurate medical records and patient education.
• Communicates with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Leads unit activities; may serve as charge nurse or preceptor.
