Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced RN II to provide skilled nursing care across a diverse patient population. The role includes assessments, exams, treatment assistance, and thorough documentation while collaborating with physicians and the health care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The RN II will lead unit initiatives, mentor students and new staff, and advocate for patient rights within shared governance structures, maintaining compassionate, safety-focused care.

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• RN Texas licensure or compact licensure within 60 days; BLS certification.
• English language proficient for patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct patient assessments.
• Communicate with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Lead unit initiatives or serve as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records and provide patient education.
• Develop and communicate care plans and advocate for patient rights.
