Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in the Dallas area seeks a Clinical Team Leader to serve as charge nurse, delivering direct patient care while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN, complete charge nurse training within 90 days if external, hold a TX RN license (or compact), and maintain required clinical certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) with potential for advanced specialty credentials within 2 years.

Qualifications

• Must be a BSN graduate.
• Completion of charge nurse training within 90 days if external hire.
• Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
• Clinical course certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP)
• Advanced specialty certification or agreement to obtain within 2 years (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provides front line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff.
• Develops staffing plan based on patient acuity and oversees day-to-day operations on the shift.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing to support unit fiscal goals.
• Coordinates efficient patient flow from admission to discharge.
• Supports manager in achieving unit and organizational quality and patient experience objectives.
• Participates in department initiatives and process improvements.
• Assists with peer interviews and employee evaluations as requested by manager.
• Assists with incident investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.
