Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Clinical Team Leader to provide direct patient care as the charge nurse and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. This role leads department staff, plans unit staffing, and ensures efficient patient flow on the assigned shift.

You will collaborate with the Nurse Manager to improve patient experience, reduce length of stay, and uphold unit quality measures.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Completion of charge nurse training within 90 days if externally hired.
• Current Texas RN license (or compact license) required.
• Clinical course certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) aligned with RN requirements.
• Advanced specialty certification (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.) or plan to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides front line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff, ensuring quality and integrity of care.
• Develops staffing plan based on patient acuity and oversees day-to-day operations on the designated shift.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing to support fiscal goals of the unit.
• Coordinates patient flow and ensures timely admission and discharge processes.
• Assists the manager in achieving patient experience, length of stay, and unit-specific quality measures.
• Participates in process improvement initiatives and peer evaluations as requested.
• Assists with occurrence investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.
