Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Controls Assessor and Validator to support the United States Coast Guard in Alexandria, VA. You will evaluate, test, and validate the effectiveness of security controls using RMF and lead a team of assessors to meet project milestones.

Responsibilities include planning security authorization reviews, managing accreditation packages, and ensuring compliance with NIST RMF standards while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a senior team to meet milestones.
• Provide guidance and training to team members.
• Plan and conduct security authorization reviews of federal systems.
• Manage and review Accreditation Packages and ensure compliance with RMF.
• Support USCG system accreditation and Ongoing Authorization processes.
• Develop and apply RMF policy, NIST controls, and control implementation methodologies.
• Review SSP, SAR, POA&M, and related security documentation.
• Assist in POA&M remediation and closure documentation.
