Bullish, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to design and maintain high‑performance risk systems for its Clearing function.

You will architect scalable infrastructure for market data ingestion and work across Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, and Clearing to ensure data accuracy and system resilience. Responsibilities include optimizing performance, enforcing SDLC best practices, and collaborating with global teams to translate complex requirements into robust specifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience at a regulated financial institution.
• Deep knowledge of risk management frameworks and margining methodologies.
• Expert Java proficiency with fault‑tolerant, high‑throughput systems.
• GC optimization, concurrency, and memory management.
• Experience with middleware like Aeron and Kafka.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL data stores (Postgres, Redis, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Twelve‑Factor App, HA/DR strategies, and hexagonal architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high‑performance risk systems for the Clearing function.
• Architect scalable infrastructure to ingest and transform market data feeds.
• Apply understanding of data models across Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, and Clearing.
• Guarantee system resilience by prioritizing high availability, disaster recovery, data freshness, and throughput (TPS).
• Champion engineering excellence with code quality, automated testing, and SDLC best practices.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and cost inefficiencies through profiling and optimization.
• Collaborate with global teams (HK, NY) to distill complex requirements into technical specs.
• Drive the evolution of the platform’s target‑state architecture and stay current with industry trends.
