Job summary

Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company seeks a Principal Risk Specialist to evaluate accounts in high-risk occupancies, applying advanced technical knowledge to account engineering and loss control initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, inspection, insurance engineering, and/or repairs of high value/risk occupancies such as power generation, primary metals, mining, pulp & paper, sugar, or glass.
• 5+ years experience leading/managing personnel and/or major equipment repair/installation projects as part of the experience noted above is preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate accounts by interpreting design, condition, operations, maintenance and human factors.
• Provide risk control engineering services and account engineering to improve risk.
• Develop, implement, and maintain engineering guidelines for high risk occupancies.
• Train and lead members of the High Risk Group, loss control engineering, and underwriting.
