Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Risk Director to provide independent risk oversight across cash products, payments, and money movement capabilities. You will partner with product, operations, technology, legal, and compliance to ensure risk-smart design, launch, and scale of new capabilities.

The role requires deep expertise in operational risk, regulatory frameworks, and vendor management, with a track record of leading risk teams and shaping strategic risk advisement for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in wealth management and/or personal investment advisory services, with at least 8 years of risk management and payments risk experience.
• Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred (e.g., JD, MBA, MS in Risk/Finance).
• Relevant payments or risk certifications (e.g., NACHA) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight across cash products, payments, and money movement capabilities.
• Partner with product, operations, technology, legal, compliance, and third parties to ensure risk-aware product launches and operations.
• Lead risk practitioners, develop risk frameworks, and deliver enterprise-wide risk reporting.
