Job summary

State of Wyoming seeks a Review Appraiser in Cheyenne to review and approve appraisals and waivers for the WYDOT Right-of-Way program. You will ensure fair market value estimates are accurate and guide the Attorney General’s Office on valuation matters.

You will mentor trainees through the General Certification Process and help shape the next generation of appraisers within a state agency. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cheyenne.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rules and regulations governing land appraisal and eminent domain.
• Familiarity with mapping and spatial technologies.
• Understanding of USPAP and appraisal practices.

Responsibilities

• Review all appraisals and waivers for accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise field reviews to ensure standards are met.
• Prepare supporting documentation for the appraisal review process.
• Advise acquisition agents on landowner requests and appraisals.
• Write narrative review reports explaining appraisal decisions.
• Assist in training new appraisers and cross-training staff.
