Job summary

Assurance Technology Corporation (ATC) in Alexandria, VA seeks a highly experienced Senior RHEL Administrator to lead enterprise-level Linux administration, security, and support for mission-critical environments. The role emphasizes DISA STIGs, RMF, and DoD/DON cybersecurity standards in classified contexts.

You will mentor junior staff, guide technical teams, and collaborate with program managers to deliver innovative, secure solutions within government-focused projects.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility.
• 15+ years Linux system administration, 10+ years in RHEL.
• Strong enterprise RHEL knowledge incl. clustering, storage, networking, virtualization.
• Hands-on Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Deep experience with system hardening, auditing, and compliance frameworks (DISA STIGs, NIST, RMF).
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with classified government defense programs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, secure, and optimize RHEL systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Perform hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation per DISA STIGs, RMF, and US cyber directives.
• Design, implement, and maintain HA and resilient RHEL infrastructures.
• Manage authentication/authorization with LDAP, AD, and Kerberos.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Support Docker/Podman and virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V).
• Automate tasks with Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance.
• Document architecture, procedures, change management.
• Mentor junior admins and provide technical leadership.
