Job summary

Xona is seeking a Senior Mixed-Signal Engineer to lead RFSoC board layout for satellite and space-based systems. You will oversee placement, routing, and high-speed data interfaces, collaborating with RF, electrical, FPGA, and mechanical teams from concept through prototyping to production.

The role focuses on delivering space-qualified hardware that meets performance, thermal, reliability, and environmental requirements. Travel for off-site testing may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering.
• 8+ years in mixed-signal or RF or high-speed PCB design.
• Understanding of RF electromagnetic principles.
• Able to read PCBA schematics and use Altium.
• Experience laying out complex RFSoC/FPGA boards.
• Strong knowledge of mixed-signal PCB design (controlled impedance, diff. signaling, high-speed SerDes).
• Hands-on use of test equipment (multimeters, scopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience with RFSoC/AMD/Xilinx devices (pin planning, power, clocking, transceivers).
• Familiarity with interfaces (JESD204, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, Aurora, RF interfaces).
• Willing to travel for off-site testing.
• Self-starter, proactive, good communication.
• Manufacturing constraints, PCB fabrication and DFM.
