Job summary

Viasat in Tempe, AZ is seeking a seasoned Test Engineer to perform RF/Microwave test activities for commercial, military and space products. You will plan and execute test tasks, interpret requirements, design test hardware and software, and test flight hardware across RF and digital domains.

You will lead test development efforts, work with RF and Digital Engineers, management, and manufacturing, train technicians, and provide clear status and documentation throughout programs from requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE or related field.
• 5+ years of test automation and design experience.
• Experience leading a test development effort.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, Java and LabVIEW.
• Ability to work with incomplete requirements and ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Gather test requirements with designers.
• Develop Test Plans.
• Develop Test Station Hardware.
• Select appropriate Test equipment.
• Develop test software.
• Create Test HW BOM.
• Calibrate test stations.
• Troubleshoot and debug hardware.
• Data analysis of test results.
• Write test and calibration procedures.
• Train or mentor technicians and test engineers.
• Communicate status to program management.
• Test of custom RF hardware.
• Create hardware and software documentation.
