Job summary

Viasat is seeking a hands-on RF test engineer to build, test, and troubleshoot advanced RF-based electro‑mechanical modules and subassemblies. You will create and maintain custom test systems that support critical programs and ensure reliable, repeatable results.

You’ll collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to analyze issues, develop robust test methods, and document procedures, contributing to the development and production of sophisticated RF products.

Qualifications

• Six-plus years of relevant work experience.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic products using effective methods.
• Ability to read schematics and understand electronic circuits.
• Strong MS Office skills and good communication.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF testing and troubleshooting down to the circuit level.
• Conduct high-level RF measurements: gain, P1dB, noise figure, phase noise, adjacent channel rejection, and isolation.
• Develop test methods, procedures, and documentation to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers, Test Engineers, and Manufacturing teams to investigate issues and identify root causes.
• Apply sound technical judgment to support complex programs across RF products.
