Job summary

Applied Materials seeks a Systems Engineer in San Jose, CA to design, integrate, and optimize complex semiconductor systems. You will work with cross‑functional teams to define architectures, write specifications, and drive system-level problem solving.

The role requires advanced degrees in EE/Physics, 7–10 years of experience, and the ability to manage multi‑disciplinary projects through to successful deployment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Plasma Physics or RF Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in related technical roles.
• Proven ability to design and integrate complex systems for semiconductor applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute projects with electrical, mechanical, physics, and software elements.
• Define system architectures and write detailed subsystem specifications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure design integrity and risk mitigation.
• Support system integration and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex engineering problems in hardware and software.
