Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in RF systems to advance autonomous surface vessel networks and sensing capabilities. The role emphasizes RF design, testing, and integration of transceivers, radar, antennas, and related electronics for maritime use.

The candidate will lead benchmarking, field testing, and model RF propagation in marine environments, collaborating with autonomy, software, and mechanical teams to influence future platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of RF system design, testing, and integration experience.
• Deep understanding of RF theory, antennas, and signal propagation in marine environments.
• Hands‑on experience with RF instrumentation (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters).

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D in RF communications, radar, and electronic sensing for autonomous surface vessels.
• Evaluate and benchmark RF hardware and subsystems across multiple bands (VHF/UHF, L/S/C/X).
• Conduct trade studies and benchmarking to inform system selection and integration strategies.
• Design, prototype, and test RF systems and supporting electrical architectures.
• Model RF propagation and link performance in maritime environments.
• Collaborate with autonomy, software, and mechanical teams for integration.
• Develop test procedures, validate trials, and analyze performance.
• Author technical reports, specs, and evaluations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to RF roadmap and knowledge base.
• Support field testing and vessel trials.
