Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior RF/Radar Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead modeling and simulation of SAM systems and radar/RF techniques. You will develop high-fidelity models using MATLAB/Simulink, C++, and Python, collaborating with a skilled team and mentoring junior engineers.

Requires 8+ years in EE/CS, advanced degree options, and an active US Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; compliance with federal security standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, OR Master’s with 6+ years, OR Ph.D. with 2+ years.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Subject matter expertise in RF propagation, signal processing, track filtering, antenna design, communications, radar systems, missile/seeker, passive radar, electronic support, and electronic attack.
• Experience modeling and simulating weapons systems including Radar, Directed Energy Weapons, SAM Systems, RF Jammers, Missile Seekers, and/or ASW weapons.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior RF/Radar Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to perform modeling and simulation of defensive weapon systems of peer/near-peer adversaries with a focus on surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems including RF sensors; target acquisition and tracking; 6-DOF missile flyout, command, and seeker endgame; network-centric warfare techniques; command-and-control (C2/C4); and advanced Radar/RF techniques.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Participate in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software models that simulate and/or emulate real-world adversarial Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems within TMAP STIMS 2.0, STIMS 3.0, and/or LIVE modeling frameworks

• Perform subsystem and system-level modeling and simulation derived from all-source intelligence data

• Address intelligence gaps using expertise in weapon systems, waveforms, signal processing, probability of detection/intercept, electronic warfare, antennas, and electromagnetics, and analyze and implement EO/IR techniques

• Develop algorithms and techniques for active/passive detection, signal processing chains, clutter mitigation, electronic attack, waveform selection/scheduling, and adaptive beamforming

• Conduct engineering analysis of real-world threat weapon systems, supplementing all available all-source intelligence assessments to inform the software model lifecycle, including development, maintenance, and study support

• Understand and track software model requirements to ensure alignment with customer objectives

• Analyze real-world threat weapon system characteristics, capabilities, and limitations, and develop digital twin representations of those systems

• Develop software using MATLAB/SIMULINK, C/C++, and/or Python to create high-fidelity models and simulations

• Participate in technical discussions to support near- and long-term planning for model development and integration

• Collaborating within a team and mentoring junior/mid-level software developers

Required Clearance:

• Must be a US Citizen

• Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science with 8+ years of experience, OR Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience, OR Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience

• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and/or MATLAB/Simulink

• Subject matter expertise in RF propagation, signal processing, track filtering, antenna design, communications, radar systems, missile/seeker, passive radar, electronic support, and/or electronic attack

• Experience with modeling and simulation of weapons systems including Radar, Directed Energy Weapons, Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, RF Jammers, Missile Seekers, and/or Anti-Satellite weapons

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• EO/IR experience

• Experience with threat weapon system model modeling in TMAP, ODESSA, ESAMS, AFSIM, LIVE and/or ITASE

• Experience with STIMS 2.0 (Simulink), STIMS 3.0 (C++), and/or LIVE modeling frameworks/standards

• Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment

• Experience working in an AGILE software development team

• Mentoring experience

• Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment

• Experience with working with environmental datasets and RF propagation

Salary Range: $125,100.00 - $225,200.00
