Job summary

HRL Laboratories, LLC seeks a senior engineer to design and test high-performance RF/mmWave subsystems. You will lead schematic capture, PCB layout, and integration with mechanical teams for thermal solutions, while mentoring junior engineers in best practices.

The role requires 5+ years in electronic design, strong RF knowledge, and experience with Altium, HFSS, and ADS. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are preferred. California-based, salary range provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or relevant field required.
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and testing electronic circuits.
• Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Proficiency with RF and mmWave PCB development, layout, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary and critical designs using COTS or custom components with minimal oversight.
• Oversee fabrication and testing processes ensuring timelines and quality.
• Conduct schematic capture, PCB layout, fabrication docs, and module assembly.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering to develop thermal solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote development best practices.
