Job description

At Eridan we believe in the power of collaboration and communication to achieve our mission: connect the planet to empower a sustainable, shared future. That mission is possible with our patented transmitter which decreases the cost and power required to roll out 5G by 10x when deployed globally. This is all facilitated through our offices: our Sunnyvale headquarters has big windows (even in the lab!), is walking distance to downtown and the Caltrain, and fits the entire team in the cafeteria for our frequent company parties.

About this Job

We’re looking for a Senior RF Lab Manager to lead and manage our wireless hardware lab, playing a critical role in the development, bring-up, and optimization of next-generation RF systems. This is a senior technical and operational role—ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys mentoring others while setting the technical and procedural direction of the lab.

As our Senior RF Lab Engineer, you will:

  • Own day-to-day operations of the RF lab, ensuring high standards for safety, process, and productivity
  • Develop and lead test and characterization plans for new designs, from prototype bring-up to full system validation
  • Serve as the senior technical resource in the lab—guiding debugging, assisting with measurements, and supporting complex troubleshooting
  • Lead and mentor a small team of engineers and lab technicians
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions
  • Set the standard for accurate measurement techniques, robust data analysis, and clear, concise documentation and reporting
  • Maintain lab equipment, calibration schedules, and workflow organization
  • Work with system schematics and identify opportunities for improvements

Qualities of a Successful Candidate:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in RF/microwave system design, validation, and testing
  • Deep experience with test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters
  • Familiarity with RF/Digital PCB design and layout
  • Working knowledge of mixers, PLLs, filters, and signal chains
  • Strong understanding of communication systems and signal processing concepts
  • Proficiency in scripting or data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
  • Experience documenting procedures, analyzing test results, and presenting findings clearly
  • Working knowledge 3GPP 4G/5G system specifications

Preferred Qualities/Nice to Have:

  • Experience with RF power amplifiers and linearization
