Job summary

Vast, headquartered in Long Beach, California, seeks a Senior RF Engineer to drive the design, testing, and integration of RF subsystems for next-generation space stations. This full-time exempt role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable RF solutions for mission-critical space hardware and airborne platforms, with direct reporting to the Director of RF Engineering.

You will own RF products from development through mission service, define test plans, manage vendors, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment.
• Familiarity with digital RF communication theory and fundamentals.
• Familiarity with programming.
• Product management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more RF products from development testing through mission service.
• Own subject matter expertise over the purpose and function of RF components in the RF system.
• Plan design, manufacturing, testing, integration, and delivery to the vehicle and coordinate schedules.
• Document and review work output with peers through trade studies and design reviews.
• Manage cross-functional relationships with mechanical, test, manufacturing, thermal, and avionics engineers.
• Manage vendors and communicate requirements, deliverables, and schedules.
• Define test plans and procedures for acceptance and qualification testing.
• Define and document checkout tests to validate operation during and after vehicle integration.
• Support mission operations as a subject matter expert on RF components.
